This project reimagines the 150°F (66°C) heat beneath Hudson Yards as an avant-garde civic landscape through a four-act strategy :
ACT I: Removal
Reveal hidden heat by inverting platform construction and improving ventilation, reducing temperatures from 150°F to 90°F.
ACT II: Material Reclamation
Repurpose excavated materials as reminders of public infrastructure and for waste recycling, with steel and soil available for new construction.
ACT III: Passive Chimneys
Build air towers from reclaimed materials in hollow hills with reversed fans to improve airflow, supporting life in extreme conditions.
ACT IV: Civic Enactment
Convert excavated spaces at 35 Hudson Yards into a triple-height community town hall.
